Vergil Ortiz vs Antonio Orozco Fight Live Stream Free Boxing on Facebook

This Saturday night live on DAZN, hot prospect Vergil Ortiz Jr (13-0, 13 KO) takes on Antonio Orozco (28-1, 17 KO) AUGUST 10, 2019 TIME 5:00 PM in a main event from Texas.

Vergil Ortiz Jr legitimately looks to have the goods, to be the genuine article. Being a big veteran of the world like I am, an infallible genius, I don’t get super excited about most prospects anymore. Would probably be more fun if I did, honestly, but I’ve seen too many flame out or fall short. Ortiz, though? I’ve got high hopes. I think he might be special. Orozco, on the other hand, never seemed to me to be a special fighter, and it seems clear now that he isn’t. He took a beating last year against Jose Ramirez, and he didn’t exactly light up the computer monitor on March 30 in his win over Jose Luis Rodriguez, a journeyman who gave Orozco more problems than the scores might indicate. Part of that was Orozco trying to box an adjusted style, but what he did in March isn’t going to work against Ortiz. If Orozco has any hope here, it’s going to be wading through the fire against the prospect and hoping Ortiz’s chin doesn’t hold. There’s a chance of that, sure — you never know until you know — but I wouldn’t bet on it. I do think Orozco takes Ortiz past the fifth for the first time, though. Ortiz TKO-8

I’m really hoping this turns out to be a sneaky good fight. Ortiz enters this fight 10 years younger than Orozco, and with a bit of a height advantage, but Orozco certainly won’t be a pushover. Orozco did, however, take some real punishment in his loss to Jose Ramirez last fall before bouncing back to decision Jose Luis Rodriguez in a much softer touch. Orozco has been around the game long enough that I think he gives the 21-year-old Ortiz some problems. But I also think Ortiz is a highly regarded prospect for a reason and he still has that young ‘thoroughbred’ thing about him, to where he can outpace Orozco over the distance. I see Ortiz taking a win, but I think this stoppage streak ends here. Ortiz UD-12

Against Jose Ramirez, we saw what happens when Orozco, a come-forward bruiser with a strong body attack, takes on someone who’s all that but hits markedly harder. Ortiz doesn’t have Ramirez’s top-level experience or tangible demonstrations of freakish durability, but I’d wager that he packs even more one-shot power in his debilitating arsenal.

Orozco can’t out-gun Ortiz on the inside and doesn’t have the skills to hold his own at range. Unless Ortiz turns out to have a shaky chin, expect a few rounds of brutal action before the young gun catches him clean. Ortiz TKO-4

Ortiz is looking like a very special talent. His flashy jab and fast combinations will pepper Orozco all night, with ‘Relentless’ hoping to stay in the pocket and sit on the chest of the youngster. It’ll be exciting to see how Ortiz deals with Orozco’s experience and tenacity throughout the distance. Ortiz can really sit on his punches and more than capable of finding the stoppage – a stoppage I expect the prospect to find in the latter half of the fight. This is a great crossroads encounter which could catch alight! Ortiz KO-9

Rene Alvarado (29-8, 20 KOs) at only 29 years old is considered a ring veteran, he is coming into tonight’s WBA Super Featherweight World Title Eliminator with a five fight win streak and is one more step closer to championship bout.

Carlos Morales (17-3-3, 6 KOs) made notice when he was supposed to be another walk over opponent heading into his fight against highly favored prospect Ryan Garcia, but he proved to be a respectable competitor giving Garcia a really hard tough fight and a wake up call.

Although Morales lost the decision to Garcia he was able to rough up the young boxing star, and in the process make Garcia switch trainers to train under Chepo and Eddy Reynoso the famed father and son Mexican duo who trained Canelo Alvarez to multiple championships.

Whoever wins the fight shows if you keep fighting and stay focused you can fight your way back from a couple losses to a title shot.

In the co-main event, top 140 pound prospect Jonathan “Thunder” Navarro (15-0, 8 KOs) of East Los Angeles, CA, takes on Manuel Mendez (16-3-3, 11 KOs) of Indio, CA in a 10-round light welterweight fight.

Undefeated prospect Hector “El Finito” Tanajara Jr. (15-0, 5 KOs) is originally from Texas, but trains out of Riverside with Robert Garcia. He will take on Roberto “Tito” Manzanarez (36-2, 29 KOs) of Phoenix, Arizona, in a 10-round lightweight bout.
